This month is World Ocean Month, a time for those of us that are green to remember that 70% of our planet is blue. This clip both reminds us of the majesty of the oceans and also stuns the viewer with footage of the terrible pollution we humans have dumped there and its impact on water creatures. With each challenge the clip also informs us of what the Ocean Conservancy is doing to reverse these trends and protect the oceans.
Save the date: Saturday, September 17, 2011. Join half a million people who are willing to spend just one day cleaning trash from the worlds shorelines for International Coastal Cleanup Day. Last year 8 million pounds of garbage were cleaned up.
